Network News: Gawker Media is "unacquireable."

Instablogs answers a second round of questions:

8. Are you going to do anything about your dull blogs? - Rose Now that all our blogs are up and running, we will make sure each of them has a distinct identity. Soon, you won’t see the same ‘drab’ logo, color scheme etc. In fact, we will launch the redesigned blogs one by one from the second week of November. No more ‘corporate look’. Thanks for the suggestion, Darren and Nick.

Good call, as the "corporate look" is what I hear WIN most criticized for and 9rules most extolled for avoiding (since, of course, 9rules blogs were independently designed). Unique designs complement a strong blog the way atmosphere improves a meal's taste.

Clear Digital Media wraps up October with traffic up on its major blogs.

As of publication, I'm seeing a cPanel error at b5media.

Webby Media draws parallels between Creative Weblogging and Weblogs, Inc. Actually, I think both that blue and that orange look silly on white.

Nick Denton says that Gawker Media is not only not for sale, it's unacquireable. The containing article asks whether the blogosphere is the next bubble (Chris Pirillo said "yes" when we discussed the question on his show). Denton doesn't see a big rush of funding. He also notes that Gawker Media's acidity depends on its independence. "Without media conglomerates as targets, the Gawker titles would have no purpose." Big article. Many...words. Take a look.
